Nowadays, discovering talents is not only confined in joining different contests in different contest platforms in television or radio. Since the inception of youtube, it is now a big part in discovering new talents in all sorts and forms. Talk show hosts like Ellen de Generes is among those that scouts talent online through youtube and invites them to their show.
A lot of people who have talent and don’t have the chance to join contests is now uploading their videos showcasing their talent in youtube. This venue is much more larger as it involves worldwide audience. Other shares their experience of what instruments and tools they are using to record and upload good quality music. Just recently, another youtube sensation from the Philippines who did a cover of Luther Vandross’ song Dance with my Father was invited to grace at Ellen Show. They were only using an old acoustic guitar while singing, but the angelic voice of the young boy that sings caught the attention of the famous talk show host. I hope we can see them on that show soon. It’s amazing how youtube paved ways of so many talents and gets discovered.
